Our fully secluded "Mittenwald-Lodge" can be found in a slightly elevated, quiet, inclined area near the Historical Center "Gries" of the "Market Mittenwald" (913m aSL, known as "Media Silva" for more than 1000 years, and for more than 2000 years as a station at the Roman "Via Raetia").
Mittenwald ist located about 100km south of Munich, and well-known as an All-Season Sport-, Health-, and SPA-Center, between Garmisch-Partenkirchen\ Germany (20km) and Innsbruck\ Austria (30km).
Mittenwald ist famous for it's Violin Makers, it's traditional architecture and House-Frescos, it's Historical Town Center, and for it's large & fantastic mountain environment, especially suitable for Hiking, Climbing, Biking, Rafting, Fishing, Swimming, Golfing, Paragliding, Mountain Carting (and for Skiing, Free-Riding, Cross-Country Skiing, Curling at wintertime) etc.
In walking distance to our "Mittenwald-Lodge" you can find shops, saloons, restaurants, bars, parks, lakes, sport- & playing grounds, Mountaineering Schools, several events, traveling agencies offering lots of guided tours, the station etc, see eg the Mittenwald website for details.
On the town map or at Google Maps, you can find our "Mittenwald-Lodge" (or "Landhaus Bergglueck" respectively) at the NW outskirts of the town, near to Mittenwald Old Center "Gries" (2min), near to the New Center (5min), and near to the "Kranzberg" Lift Station (3min), which is a main starting point for Hiking\ Skiing.

Efficient street and rail connections (eg 10 trains daily to\ from Munich, 7 to Innsbruck) make Mittenwald an excellent place to visit Bavaria\ Germany and Tirol\ Austria, including their neighborhoods, from Munich\ Germany to Venice\ Italy, and from Salzburg\ Austria to St Moritz\ Switzerland.
And it takes years to visit all the famous locations and ressorts in this area, like the Bavarian lakes (eg Starnberger See, Ammersee, Chiemsee etc), the famous castles, monasteries, and churches (eg Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, Ettal, Wieskirche etc), the Alpine Hiking\ Skiing areas in Tirol (EG Karwendel, Lechtaler, Stubaier, Zillertaler, Ötztaler, Dolomiten etc), and the big number of further attractions, waiting for "Discovery". Many of them can be visited by walking\ biking, or by train\ bus (many guided tours!), but all of them can be reached by 1-day car tours! - Auf geht's!
